University of Newcastle Services
What is the difference between a student loan and a scholarship? At UON, we make the difference simple to understand.
A scholarship is a bursary or schooling award, often presented to a student who shows maximum potential in regards to his education.
This can be awarded for an annual study fee on behalf of the university allowing the student to complete his studies.
Cover your tuition.
A student loan is similar to a personal loan, where we can offer s suitable amount based on what you can afford to pay off.
If you are not earning an income, and are under 18 years old, your parents or guardians can sign surety on your behalf. The personal loan would need to be paid back by the end of your study term.
Studies are Expensive
Studying further than your grade 12 education becomes a lot more expensive, and also, depending on how many and what particular qualification you want to study, can take a toll on your budget.
