RMIT students who have serious financial problems arising from unforeseen circumstances can take advantage of interest-free loans provided by the Student Loan Fund of the university.
We Never Charge Interest on Loans
It is important to note that interest is never charged on the loan amount.
Do you Qaulify for a Loan?
You must be over the age of 18. You must be enrolled in award program at the university.
You must have paid your tuition fees and not have any outstanding debt to the university.
For Students with Financial Difficulty
Our quick loans are suitable for students who experience serious financial difficulties only.
They are not available to Open University Australia students and to those participating in inbound Education Abroad programs.

We believe in our students, and know without financial assistance, the majority of them could not afford their tuition fees. We provide interest free personal loans to our students, making them unique and much cheaper and safer than a loan you would get elsewhere.
We offer the following loan amounts:
- First year, first semester students can borrow up to $500.
- Second semester to final year students can borrow up to $1000.
- There is no interest charged on student loans – we want you to succeed without all the extra costs!
To qualify for a student loan, you must:
- Have a sound financial history, a good credit record
- Your fees must be up to date
- You must be over 18 years old
- You must be an existing student at RMIT
- You must be an Australian resident
Use your student loan to pay:
- Rental and electricity bills
- Medical accounts
- Daily living costs (utility bills)
- Essential school items (books, laptops, computers)
The process is quick and simple, get the online loan application form from our school site, compete it, sign and send in for approval. We will ensure you receive your student loan within a week, to be able to pay for your studies and essentials.
